‘Lonely Souls’
We are the lonely souls
Wandering through dirty roads of life
Unsure of our destinies, we walk unsteadily
Searching for arms that will hold us tight enough
Unable to call out
We shyly hide from each other
Stealing time to get closer
And then falling apart again and again
Too frightened to ask if it’s real
Or if it’s just another mistake
Watching past heartbreakes from a distance
We compare
Our minds start to consider
When they just shouldn’t care
We are the lonely souls
Searching for what we could never find
Slowly getting further and further
Our chances for survival weakening every second
Until they fade away and we realize
It’s me and you again
– Not us

We are lonely souls – I like it. I guess we are all lonely at times.
A sad commentary on two people moving apart from each other, touching and heartfelt.
I agree, it’s only momentarily that two souls connect to share an amazing bond. Nonetheless, we walk side by side in our alone-ness.
I liked the melody of this, by the time I finished reading I was singing. Yes, I can relate to the lonely soul, especially in a crowd of familiar people. Very nice!

Caring starts the process of receiving my heart’s desire.
If I compromise, I normally get that I settled fore.

sometimes, when you are with someone you love, and they are not being attentive to you, you feel more lonely than if you were just on your own.
