‘The Other’

What is hiding behind an empty tear?

What is hiding behind it?

Behind the curtain of dark hair

Behind the eyes that seem to repel

The feeling buried in the heart somewhere?

What memories bother this mind,

This soul which you find

So unfriendly and not worth your might?

Is he a hidden rebel

Fighting against the world

Which doesn’t want to accept him?

Or is he a sensitive soul

Lost in the universe

Between all the world’s evil?

Too weak,

Is he too weak?

Or are we?

Are we too weak,

Too self – centered,

Too egoistic

To spend some of our precious time

And get to know the other person?

‘Civilization’s traps’

Closed doors

Front doors

Eyes close

Eyes closed

Careful watch

Watch to catch

You doing something wrong

.

Hands reach

Hands of witch

And tongues of one too

Tongues always due

To see you do

Change the hue

.

Nails sharp

Nails that carp

Just like lips

Making you get to grips

With remorse

Which only makes things worse

.

Ears that listen

In the light they glisten

The foes that gossip

Wait for you to take a sip

From the cup which pleasures promise

But no friends enlist

I’d like to thank you for the following award in the Thursday Poets Rally:

I nominate Elaine Danforth.

‘LFF – Lost Friends Forever’

Standing next to me

A figure from the past

Once best friends

Our paths were set apart

Do we even miss it?

Do we want to come back

To the kindred soul who lost us,

To the one that turned her back?

Her face turning blurry in my own memory

It’s meant to fade away

Like dust on the streets

I’m happy without you

Could you be, then, true?
