‘I know’

I know

You’ve already forgotten

How our fingers met

The touch so soft, like rose petals

How our bodies moved to the same rhythm

How your heart was beating

When I laid my head on your chest

I know

That you don’t care

You don’t need to see me

Ever again

You’re good with the attention

Provided by all those other girls

I know

Those memories are just the past

And you never wanted us to last

You prefer to have your freedom

And have fun all your life

I would be a burden for you, I know that

Even though I know

Even though I know all of that

I still can’t stop my mind from thinking

About what you’re up to now

I still can’t stop my heart from pounding

When I see somebody alike

I still can’t stop my body from wanting

To be close to yours

I still can’t stop my lips from desiring

A kiss that never happened at all

Aching

Poison

Drug

Breaking

Bleeding

Please release me

I’m begging you to let me go

‘Happiness’

We travel the world

We make plans

We hope

That if we achieve this and that

Our happiness will finally be a fact

We let ourselves be fooled

By the promises of everlasting beauty

By the temptation of easy money

And physical reveries fulfilled

With a touch of a magic wand

We surround ourselves with envy

With dreams of servants and palaces

We look down on people

Who go through life

With no such desires

The only thing we miss

In this picture of a perfect life

Is the happiness which lingers not

Somewhere in a faraway land

But the closest it could possibly be – deep inside our hearts

‘To Be’

To Be is to exist,

To feel but not be present in the human understanding,

Not to have a purpose apart from the eternal nowness.

To Be is to flow

With nature, with the universe,

To realize the depth of the words: ‘I am’.

To Be is to have no words,

To enjoy the neighbourhood but stay in remoteness,

Move freely without a particular path.

To Be is the beauty

Of being nobody, nowhere,

Of floating in the pure state of realization.

To Be is to meditate

Into the wonders of the mind’s antipodes

And to keep that state forever in the unconditional existence.

To Be is to acknowledge

The profound beauty of stillness and solitude

And of the silence of surroundings…

This poem was slightly inspired by Aldous Huxley’s ‘The Doors of Perception’ and ‘Heaven and Hell’. If you haven’t read these yet, I strongly recommend it. It’s absolutely stunning!
